Necessary adjustment of its program offering on the James Bay coast

Since 2013, the University of Sudbury has been offering on-site programming in James Bay. The University of Sudbury has now been informed that the federal funding from Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) will not be renewed next year. We know that this shocking news will have repercussions on the James Bay coast.

The University has been committed to establishing this program offering on the James Bay Coast; an initiative evaluated in a very positive light by the students registered in the program, and having a tangible impact on the communities in question. We are currently taking the necessary steps to ensure the continuation of this initiative for the next academic year. We will continue to work with our partner, the Mushkegowuk Tribal Council, as well as other local partners, and will take all possible steps to secure the long-term funding necessary to the continuation of our program offering in the region.
