France Gélinas, fourth speaker in the Louise Charron Conference series
On Friday, November 18, the University of Sudbury hosted the Louise Charron Conference, which highlighted the 30th anniversary of the French Language Services Act this year.
France Gélinas, Nickel Belt MPP and the NDP Critic for Francophone Affairs, was the keynote speaker. She touched on the history of French language services, with many local anecdotes, encouraging the crowd to think and even laugh. Afterwards, participants viewed François Boileau’s live presentation in Ottawa.
