Two-year extension to LUFA collective agreement ratified
The University of Sudbury and the Laurentian University Faculty Association (LUFA) – University of Sudbury Local are proud to announce the ratification of a two-year extension to their collective agreement, extending it to June 30, 2023.
Both parties unanimously recommended the extension of the collective agreement, which was set to expire on June 30, 2021. The University of Sudbury Board of Regents ratified the agreement on January 13, 2021. The ratified extension continues the current agreement, including a 1% annual increase as per Bill 124 and progress-within-the-rank increments, with minor modifications.
“We want to thank all those involved for their collaboration and commitment,” shares Dr. John Meehan, S.J., President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sudbury. “This extension is positive, providing stability in these times and good conditions in which we can continue to instruct the young leaders our world needs.”
“We commend the University of Sudbury for the collaborative and pragmatic approach they chose in these difficult times, and for continuing to recognize the value of their Faculty Members and to keep supporting them while facing significant financial challenges,” added Fabrice Colin, LUFA President.
